Why Jan.1
So, week one of meeting with the new clients is done! It always amazes me why everyone has to start eating healthy and exercising on Jan 1. Why is that such a magical date, every year? Do we never think about health and fitness any other time of the year? We don't decide we have to wait until Jan. 1 to buy a house or a car so why do we wait until then to get a personal trainer, or a gym membership? Do we never think about the crap we are putting into our bodies between Jan 2 and Dec. 31? Why do we have to start eating healthy only on Jan. 1? I commend those who came out and I commend them even more so if they continue to use the sessions or the membership they booked beyond, ah, let's say, the middle of Jan. Hmmm....I wonder how many people do really stick with it? I hope the numbers are high but who knows. With that being said, it takes a very strong person to make the changes needed, regardless of when they do it and day one at the gym is a great start. I certainly hope those whom I am working with will stay committed past the middle of Jan. They seem like they are truly ready to make a difference so I suspect I'll have them for a while, which is great for me. I LOVE seeing people work towards new goals, get excited when they reach some of their milestones, and I enjoy helping them do things they never thought possible. I feel like I am truly in the moment with them. I remember those days when every goal met, no matter how big or small, was huge in my mind. I believe everyone should feel that bit of excitement at least once in their life.

What is this blog about anyway?
Hi everyone! As most of you know I'm a personal trainer, working in the industry, growing my own business and trying to help others reach their true potential. I LOVE my job, in fact I see it as a profession and not a job. Yes, in my mind there is a difference. However, I am far from perfect, I want to, make that NEED to lose weight (about 65 pounds actually), I need to workout more and go back on my eating plan. It worked the first time so it will work this time! I need to look hot in my wedding dress in 8 months, 20 days and 2 hours (yes, I'm counting..lol). I also have a huge bike race coming up in Aug and I need to be in the shape of my life to accomplish that goal. No giving up half way through this time!! So, I will use this blog to share how all that's going, how my training is going, and just things I see, feel and experience as a personal trainer. I will also use my other blog (future fast chick) as well for major accomplishments etc as I'd like to keep this one mainly on the side of personal training. I apology in advance if I offend anyone, upset anyone, or annoy anyone but please keep in mind this is MY blog and I will say what I think and feel. My thoughts and feelings will never be directed at one certain person but just how I feel overall about something. I may be blunt sometimes but again, it's my blog. I hope to blog at least once a week but who knows how many clients I'll have in any given week and sometimes the hours in a day are short, as we all know. All that being said, I sincerely hope that you will follow my blog and see what's going on inside this overworked, under exercised, usually hungry, mostly sweet, quirky little brain of mine. As always, I hope it's worth the ride!!
